广西柳州市体育局３月１０日召开发布会，宣布２０１６中国足球协会杯开幕式将于３月１９日下午２点３０分在柳州体育中心举行。
开幕式将由柳州市远道足球俱乐部承办，由柳州市体育局牵头的足协杯筹备组已成立。据悉，开幕式上除表演壮观的芦笙踩堂、壮乡铜鼓，还将组织柳州市青少年表演足球拉拉操，展示柳州市青少年足球培训的成果。
柳州市远道足球队已于２月１１日开始正式集结，除了坚持每天的日常训练，还组织队伍拉出去参加了多场热身赛，在考察外援、磨合队伍等方面取得了较好效果。３月１９日的中国足球协会杯开幕式结束后，柳州远道队将与来自中乙的上海聚运动队进行首场比赛。
