At the end of the month, the Xiamen No.2 Middle School football team held their heads high and advanced to the 2023 China Youth Football League (Men's High School U17 Group) National Finals. This school has a football history of over 120 years. Since 2013, the Xiamen Second Middle School football team has won two championships, seven runner ups, and four third places in the official national high school student competitions, consistently ranking among the top.

In recent years, campus football, as a pioneering project for school sports, a fundamental project for Chinese football, and an educational project for cultivating morality and talent in the new era, has been deeply engraved in the development blood of campus football characteristic schools. Adhering to characteristic education and educating students through ball games, we have explored a new mode of education that focuses on campus football and leads students to comprehensive development. We have taken unique paths in inheritance and innovation, forming distinct football characteristics. From the green field on campus, we have emerged a group of outstanding figures, including academicians, archaeologists, artists, and other leaders in various fields.

For many years, Xiamen No.2 Middle School has adhered to the concept of "integrating football spirit and five educations", fully utilizing the educational function of football culture, integrating football culture into campus cultural construction, and infiltrating cultural influence. The school has won the National Excellent Reform Achievement Award for School Physical Education Teaching, Training, Competition, and Condition Guarantee System Construction by the Ministry of Education, The "Centennial Inheritance · Three Dimensional Diversity: Exploration and Practice of Campus Football Curriculum Education" was awarded the Special Prize for Basic Education Teaching Achievements in Fujian Province in 2022. The school was awarded the "National Youth Campus Football Characteristic School", "National Sports Traditional Project School", "National Campus Football Excellent School and Outstanding Contribution Unit", and the school secretary and principal Wang Shouqiong was also awarded the honor of National Outstanding Principal for Innovation in Primary and Secondary School Sports Work.

The football culture of Xiamen No.2 Middle School is inherited in one continuous line, adhering to the educational model of integrating physical education and sports. Through the popularization and professional development of football characteristics, we actively promote quality education. The school has innovated its educational model by centralizing football team members in classes, implementing small-scale teaching, and resolving the contradiction between learning and training. The school regards football as a compulsory physical education course, popularizes football theory and basic skills, promotes full participation, and forms a cultural heritage of "everyone loves football, there is a team in the class, everyone knows how to play football, and there are games every year" throughout the school.

The school adheres to the concept of cultivating morality, enlightening intelligence, promoting physical fitness, cultivating beauty, and cultivating labor through the ball. It has constructed a professional curriculum with popularization, expansion, and elite as the main body, an integrated curriculum with subject integration as the main body, and a "three-dimensional and diverse" football school-based curriculum framework with theme activities, competitive activities, and extracurricular practical activities as the main themes. The sports literacy, fighting spirit, teamwork awareness, and rule awareness reflected in football lay a solid foundation for students' learning and future adaptation to society.

Wu Kunsheng, who has just won the "National Outstanding Award for Sports Talent Innovation in Primary and Secondary Schools", was once a professional football player. In 2010, he joined Xiamen No.2 Middle School as a sports teacher and was the head coach of the football team of Xiamen No.2 Middle School. Since 2016, Wu Kunsheng has led his coaching team to innovate and continuously integrate digitalization into daily training work. With the efforts of the coaching team, Xiamen No.2 Middle School has continuously strengthened research on the digital application of football. On the one hand, it has established scientific research cooperation with key universities, established a scientific research platform for regular communication among coaches, and formed research results covering teaching, management, training, and other topics. On the other hand, through school enterprise cooperation, we have established a talent database with Jianji Technology to continuously strengthen the analysis and application of digital training data.

In recent years, the demonstration and leading role of Xiamen No.2 Middle School's football characteristics has been continuously strengthened. The school has established cooperative assistance mechanisms with multiple schools in Fujian Province, leveraging the radiation and driving role of the Xiamen Mantianxing Training Camp headquarters, and actively carrying out exchanges with Mantianxing Training Camps. At the same time, Xiamen No.2 Middle School also takes the lead in establishing the "China Digital Intelligence Campus Football League", jointly building a sports data analysis and research center, jointly carrying out teacher training, sports data research, sharing intelligent platforms, organizing high-level digital leagues, and other means to promote the construction and application improvement of smart football.
