呼伦贝尔市教育局副局长杨忠镇，扎兰屯市政府副市长包颖、市政协副主席教育局长孙文明及文体新广电局等相关单位负责人，出席开幕式。杨忠镇致开幕词，孙文明致欢迎词，包颖宣布开赛。本次比赛历时三天激烈角逐，将决出男、女冠、亚、季军各一名，冠军队将代表呼伦贝尔市出征内蒙古自治区“主席杯”大赛。
呼伦贝尔市“市长杯”校园足球三级联赛小学组比赛在扎兰屯市激情开赛，繁荣小学为主赛场，另在第五中学、第六中学和纸浆街小学设立三个分会场。
共有13个旗市区、32支球队、500名教练员和运动员，参加此次体育盛会。

扎兰屯市已先后成功承办过2015年呼伦贝尔市“市长杯”校园足球三级联赛小学组比赛、呼伦贝尔市民族中学运动会、呼伦贝尔市校园足球工作现场会，给力校园足球工作获得长足发展。尤其该市繁荣小学和洼堤民族学校代表队更为出彩，2015年他们出征内蒙古自治区青少年“体彩杯”足球比赛，斩获男子丙组亚军傲人战绩，取得呼伦贝尔市最好成绩。
